Dear friends, A portion of this essay was included in my most recent newsletter, so if some of it seems familiar, you’re probably a subscriber there as well.
This is the first post of several I’ll be sharing this week to let you know about something new coming here on the Recovering Your Intuitive Voice blog.
With the first month of the year winding down, I can’t say that I’m sorry to see January go. Between the holidays, cold & flu season, and the extreme weather, each day, it seemed, some new interruption threw me further away from my normal routine.
But at some point this past week it hit me, the routine I was pushing so hard to get back to wasn’t even the one I’d chosen. It had come about through a long series of these life interruptions.
We are coming out of a season of unprecedented isolation. Returning to the spaces and communities where we used to gather, eager to return to some sense of normalcy. To regain something essential to our core that we have lost and find our path forward.
Yet, there is an underlying sense that we aren’t quite sure what it is that we’re looking for. The energy surrounding us feels like chaos and confusion, leaving us a little lost, unsure of our purpose, directionless, and blocked.
There are times when life seems to propel us forward and then there are times when we find ourselves wondering how we even got here. One small incremental shift at a time, everything changed.
We have lost touch with our inner compass as a result of all the noise and divisiveness of our times. The thing I have come to understand as a three-cord strand of knowing, the Intuitive Voice, as unique to each individual as their own thumbprint.
Constructed of the innate knowing we are born with, the learned knowing picked up throughout the course of our lives, and the Spirit knowing of our higher power, the Intuitive Voice is the purest, most authentic version of your own voice, before all of life’s external conditioning and experiences served to block it.
Approaching each day with curiosity rather than certainty, helps me to release the idea that only a specific outcome matters. In curiosity, I stay connected to my Intuitive Voice. In curiosity, I am able to relax into the flow and find the deeper meaning and connection running through the underlying rhythm of it all.
Curiosity allows for what might be possible. Curiosity invites the new guard in to listen to its newfangled ideas and strange new ways. Curiosity allows that what once worked beautifully may no longer serve. Curiosity sees that there may be more than one way to get from point A to point Z.
In fact, curiosity knows that it is more about the journey than it is the destination, but it also knows that the destination may be clear, while the journey is what seems so uncertain.
Curiosity takes the journey anyway
Curious? Stay tuned for Part Two tomorrow.
💥‼️ Wow.
"In fact, curiosity knows that it is more about the journey than it is the destination, but it also knows that the destination may be clear, while the journey is what seems so uncertain."
So much material here to think on and a voice that leads us to probe deeply and without fear. Curiosity is the gift of real creativity. Delightful!
