Discovering Your Intuitive Voice Lesson 5, Part 1

Lesson 5 begins with a discussion begins with the discomfort that we experience when starting something new, and moves into thoughts on the benefit of working in silence in order to open to the messages we carry inside, rather than tune them out with noise and distractions. 

Three weeks into staying home under mandate and feelings are swirling over the feeling of being isolated from family and friends. In the midst of that experience, the lessons of learning to let go are driven home. 

Key points of this lesson include:

• how obstacles rise in the studio and the ways we address them

• Common messages of the Art Critic voice

• How these messages that were once overcome, will return when circumstances in life change, similarly, they will return when we begin working in a new medium or with new methods in the studio. 

• What to do with the work we are creating from these 5-minute exercises.

Demos and exercises include:

• Review of the last lesson on gathering 3 pieces and creating a work of art in 5 minutes

• Slowing down the process and learning what it means to work intuitively when creating a more intentional work of art.

• A fly on the wall perspective

• Looking for relationships and connections between elements by auditioning pieces. 

• How to decide between elements when there are multiple good options

• process of gluing and completing a collage when working intuitively
