Discovering Your Intuitive Voice Lesson 3, Part 1
This lesson has been edited into four parts (see below for parts 2, 3, and 4) and includes:
Discussion begins with the season of uncharted territory we were in at the start of the pandemic, as we all tuned in seeking to remain connected through our art making.
The connections were, of course, the feeling of being in community together, but also in seeing the the messages coming up through the use of the 5-minute exercises as a tool for a deeper creative experience.
Key points covered in lesson 3:
When life feels out of control, we wind up tightly controlling our artistic process
The people pleasing lie and how it inhibits our creative freedom
The three parts of the intuitive voice and where they come from
Review of participants observations about their messages coming up through the 5-minute exercises
Fear sounds different for each individual
Freedom in the studio can lead to observations and freedom in life
The push back we experience when stepping out of our comfort zone
Limiting beliefs
How playing and being curious leads to discoveries
Demos covered:
Return to the 5-minute collage and why it is necessary to repeat it
Variations to increase the challenge for those who are beginning to get comfortable with the basic 5-minute collage
Adding interest to a collage that is good, but not completely satisfying, by using marks and drawing medium.

Disclaimers:
*This course consists of edited videos of those live conversations and lessons, some of which will include observations that were specific to that time and season, but you’ll find it all relevant to understanding what your Intuitive Voice is, in and out of the studio. And for the very fact that regardless of the year, the season, the events happening out in the world, or in our own lives, we are human and life will include ups and downs, twists and turns, and unexpected events for each of us.
*This course was the first time I taught live online- it was shot in portrait view which can be somewhat limiting in what fits the screen. I've learned a great deal about how to set up and manage my camera to give you the best viewing experience I can since that time, thus it is not a reflection of a typical course here on the Canary Rising website.
